Our Products and Services

The following are some of the products and services AEAfE offers in cooperation with its local and national partners:

Development and implementation of training programs for foreign-language teachers

These programs are designed to meet the language- and certification needs of foreign-language teachers in countries in which AEAfE is active. Each program is created on the basis of the specific conditions of each country; an extensive needs analysis is conducted to ensure that the professional training program will demonstrably enhance the skills of teachers in the program. The programs are delivered in both traditional classroom settings and online. The specific content of each program is shaped in cooperation with the entity or network with which AEAfE is cooperating in the particular country.

Design and implementation of exam-preparation programs

These programs are designed to enable networks of schools and universities to incorporate exam-preparation material and practice into their classes without the need to make major curriculum changes. Drawing on international best practices and methods in language instruction the programs are designed to include all levels of language competency as defined by the European Framework of Common Reference. Virtual learning environments (e-classes) have been piloted to address the need of students in more remote areas of each country.

Administration of language competency examinations

The language examinations that AEAfE represents are developed by universities and test candidates’ skills in listening, speaking, writing and reading (including vocabulary and grammar). The examinations cover four levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, namely the B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels. AEAfE makes use of the extensive experience and expertise that its academic and administrative staff have in the organization of examinations in a range of countries and venues to train the staff of its partners in each stage of exam administration.

Design and implementation of training programs in translation and interpretation

AEAfE’s training programs in translation and interpretation lead to European- and internationally recognized professional certification in the field. Participants work with their native language, English and a third language.

Development and publication of teaching materials to support training programs and other cooperative initiatives

AEAfE’s publications adopt international standards and good practices in materials development to ensure that the published materials can be used in various national language environments without the need for adaptation or indeed separate versions. Teaching materials are developed in relation both to training programs and to specific language examinations that students can chose to prepare for. At the same time, efforts are made to secure recognition from educational authorities to permit the use of these publications and supplementary materials in public schools.
